I am very excited and proud to announce the birth of my first grandson, Samuel Lee. He was born this morning at 1:11 am to my son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Sarah. He weighs in at 7 lbs, 9 oz, 19 inches long. The whole family is doing fine.
I should point out that I do have two grandsons, the twin boys of my husband’s son. I love them very much and consider them my own grandchildren. However, Samuel is my son’s first son, I was able to be a part of the pregnancy all the way through to the delivery (in spirit if not in body 
). I will be able to hold my infant grandson in my arms. Just typing that brings tears of joy to my eyes.
I hope to get to San Diego to meet Samuel this weekend. In the meantime, lots of pictures will hopefully be coming my way. Plus, I’m thinking FaceTime will be pretty cool too. Alan is already coming up with nicknames (Slamming Sammy was the first). Just call us Grandma and Grandpa!

The other boys just call me grandma (or Debbie). That’s a long story, we didn’t know they existed until about 2 years ago. A son my husband didn’t know he had, was adopted, then found us.
