Weekend Reader: Inspiring Words from the Web

Have you ever read a great book, seen an inspiring movie, or heard a great joke, and thought, “I’ve got to share that!” Of course you have! Here are a few things from my Reader in the last week that inspired and motivated me, made me happy, sad, and angry, made my stomach growl, and made me laugh.

I felt inspired when I ran to the cross this week.

My Favorite Post This Week: Fun & Fit, 4 Fitness Grammar Mistakes. Alexandra and Kymberly always make me laugh. Read, laugh, learn, and hopefully become a better speaker (and writer) along the way.

My Favorite Dog Post This Week: Blonde Ponytail, via the FitFluential Blog, ENJOY: 5 Tips from a Dog Named Cooper. You know how much I love dogs. I was a sucker for this post, told from Cooper’s point of view.

New in my Reader (and a Great Recipe): SpaBettie, Vegan Goat Cheese. The title says it all! I was excited to find SpaBettie and I’m going to have fun checking out all of Kristina’s very interesting sounding recipes.

Best Snack Recipe: Almost Vegan, Practically Raw Recipe: Pizza Kale Chips. Amber’s blog was one of the first in my Reader. This past March she published her first cookbook, Practically Raw: Flexible Raw Recipes Anyone Can Make. Her raw recipes are very accessible to everyone (let’s just say you don’t have to have a dehydrator!).

My Favorite Quote: Vegansaurus, Tommy Lee’s Response to Sea World. They asked to use a Motley Crue song in their new production, Shamu Rocks. You rock, Tommy Lee!

Another GMO Labeling Post: The Blog of Bruce Bradley, Take a Stand Against GMOs. As you know I am a Label GMO Evangelist. It’s our goal to get the word out to vote YES on Prop. 37, and I’m happy to see Bruce doing his part.

Words to Live By: rUnladylike, How to NOT Get Hit By a Car While Running. Literally words to live by, Jesica offers some great tips for both runners and drivers on staying safe out there.

Most Inspirational: Mara, guest posting on MizFit Online, Words That Heal: Unearthing the Life You Deserve. A beautiful post on how Mara came to terms with her feelings about her body and came to love herself.

Interesting Information to Chew On: Miss Zippy, So Far, So OK with Glycogen Depletion Runs. This is a very interesting concept. Basically, Miss Zippy’s vlog discusses her training her body to tap into fat stores during long events by doing long runs without fueling in the commonly accepted method.

That’s my list. What were the favorites from your Reader this week?
