Wednesday Workout: Cross Country Circuit

For this week’s workout, I decided to let the team demonstrate the workout. We have a variety of circuits that we do for cross country, usually after they’ve done the main, running part of their workout. Today, we did a warm up, followed by drills, a quick stretch, then three miles of Indian runs on the track. Then we hit the circuit. At practice time (5:30 am) it was about 80 degrees with 85% humidity. This is not something we are used to in the desert where the humidity is usually around 10%. Just my way of saying they may look a little tired. I was filming round three of their four sets.

After their fourth circuit, they finish with one cool down lap, then stretching. All in a day’s workout!

Next week I’m traveling for a couple days for a work related meeting. The good news is that it is in Vegas, baby! And the coordinator/host is a Fitfluential Ambassador too, Dr. Darian Parker. I’m not sure what Wednesday workout is going to look like, but I’m thinking of something travel related, like what you can do in the hotel room without equipment (I’ll have a roommate so that will be interesting), or a hotel gym workout or the Vegas Strip Intervals (no, not that kind). If you have any thoughts, let me know.

So why is there humidity in the desert right now? Just curious.

I love where you live, btw. My parents used to winter out there quite often and we would come visit. Love the PS 1/2 marathon in February!

  5. Not sure why it’s humid right now, I just know it sucks :-) . Something about barometric pressure or something, I’m sure.

My husband has been the announcer of the PS Half for years! Greg, the race director is a great friend. I was the volunteer coordinator for about five or six years, but had enough of that and now I usually run the race. Much more fun.

  9. I do a lot of circuit training on my own which is how I found your blog, but I just saw you are looking for a Vegas workout. If you have a chance to take a cab off the strip, there is a really cool fitness studio that was opened by a cirque du soleil performer called Shine Alternative Fitness. They lots of cool alternative fitness classes. Xtreme boxing seems like it would be right up your alley, but they also have aerial classes and anti-gravity yoga which everyone, guys and girls alike rave about! You should check it out: http://bit.ly/PByB2N
